Job description

The New build wagon project engineer is responsible with the technical director, for purchase activities of the new equipment as wagons, superstructure, in respect regulations and to fulfill the objective of Fleet deployment . He is consequently ensuring the technical condition of the freight wagons that RailRelease has in its rental fleet and reports to the TD. He will complete the technical tasks , bring technical support inside company by advice or through inspections / takeovers in team spirit in collaboration with the Technical Fleet managers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the manufacturing of the wagons for which RailRelease fulfils the role of Asset Manager, ECM, Lessor in order to ensure the safety, continuity, availability and profitability of the wagons.
• Specifically delivery planning follow up, acceptance of the wagons, after sales / claims, technical data
• Together with Technical team fine tune the New Build wagon technical requirements , ensure technical review of manufacturer specifications.
• Support TD for quotation of new equipment.
• Be part the RRL Spare-parts strategy. Identify the relevant suppliers .WillWill ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and registration, such as VPI guideline Provide maintenance orders for repairs to the workshop.
• Be part of ECM activities, especially implementing the REX findings on new build.
• As member of small flexible technical team, can take Maintenance & repair activities as support
• Provide a support to assess manufacturers quality and ensure that state of the art in railway technology is applied .
• Will be able to ensure the proper technical data accuracy in ERP (Echo)
• The NBPE achieves the highest possible wagon availability by achieving performance objectives on new build wagon supply.
• Will represent the company, will protect the reputation of the company, and maintain the highest form of appropriate business ethics

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master in mechanical engineering. Interest and affinity with Rail Transport and Equipment.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in relevant field
• Excellent Communication Skills both written and oral in English.
• Working experiences in Railroad / Freight wagon repair, maintenance and revisions.
• Demonstrated working experience in continuous improvement of business processes.
• Knowledge of and experience with the rail company. Technical knowledge of goods equipment and the associated maintenance.
• Knowledge of risk management methods.
